From time to time, I have seen this label with washing instructions as a “funny” introduction to lectures or workshops in our branch.
Today, of course, one wonders, is this a fake?
So I did a little research and indeed, in 2012, a British discount clothing chain sold lightweight summer jeans with just such a label. There was a media outcry about this in 2012 as well. At best, a calculated but cynical advertising campaign was implied. It is remarkable that the British tabloid newspaper the daily mail, which is not considered to be progressive, took up the issue. Perhaps the important thing was that it could be polarized.
